In the link above the DNR is asking for photographed and documented before release.
“Therefore, any specimens caught in the state should be photographed before release and reported to the Department of Natural Resources to gain better knowledge of mudpuppy distribution and abundance in Minnesota. Reports may be sent to Krista Larson or call the report line at 651-259-5076.”
Brian, I just read they mate in fall, but don’t lay the eggs until spring. Scientists believe the females do this so they have something to complain about all winter to their mates.
