Didn’t relize the swearing in the video.

Gonna re-edit and put up later.

No thanks, mud puppys are bad enough. I need nothing to do with that thing.

Now I know where Ryan was! LOL!

I was grinning ear to ear watching that…and surprised the camera guy got that close!

    From the MN DNR Website:

    Quote:

Ocean connection The American eel is catadromous, meaning that individuals of this species spend most of their lives in freshwater but travel to the ocean to spawn. This journey is one of the true wonders of the natural world. The origins and habits of American eels in Minnesota are not well known, but scientists think that our eels join other American—and even European—eels in the Sargasso Sea, a 2-million-square-mile floating mat of seaweed in the north Atlantic Ocean near Bermuda. To reach Minnesota waters, they must travel nearly 1,700 miles up the Mississippi, swimming through 18 locks and dams. They have even been known to crawl up the sides of dams.

A true world traveler. I don’t like snakes, but every time I see one of those, I’m amaze in knowing their travels.

They remind me of the movie quote..”Life will find a way.”

Saw one in a smallmouth stream I fish in July. It was working over weed patches growing in water. I knew it wasn’t a snake before I got close look.

They’re pretty cool. Slimier than anything you can imagine, though, and they have quite a nasty temperment, but they are a neat fish to catch. Of course, I also like mudpuppies.

Great video. Noticed on Youtube the next video down from yours was a couple of gals catching them. They at least kiss the one before letting it go.

    I wanna catch one (eel).

My nephew got a mud puppy in the spring and he was grossed out. I tried holding the little bugger, but they are as slimy as an eelpout.

I still want a lamprey tat. No, not a tattoo, but to stick one on my arm for about 10 seconds just to say I did. Hopefully I don’t get VD.

I always forget to close the door when I take a poo. Nice catch Ryan.

For the record I have only had crabs. Whose got an open seat?

Those things are nasty, and I don’t get creeped out by much, so that’s saying something.

    Say that again!

I want to catch one REAL bad!
Went last night to P1 and put a crawler in an area where one would hang, according to research. Made a fire, and sat…. For a long time. I’m going to go to st croix this weekend and sit for a LONG TIME, anybody else want to go? Or have any tips for spots for lil’coley?

Have caught a few at the Camden boat landing many years ago. Bring protection if fishing after dark.
