I know! If I had a bit of extra $$ I’d mount that mutha and hang it on my wall! It’s in the freezer now, was gonna use it for cut bait, but now I’m not so sure.

Take measurments all around to make a replica. Then cut the baby and proceed to catch the new state record channel cat with it

Seriously, though, take pics with rulers and the fish in the frame so there are plenty of reference points so that the artist can get the whole thing just so… nothing worse than not having the source right so your trophy ends up fubar…

I took my girlfriend out this weekend for the first time since she was 6. 8 species in 2 days- Sheepshead, black & yellow bullies, Walleye, Largemouth bass, creek chub, bluegill, and finished up with this nice Shovelnose. I forgot to measure it but I’d guess 24-26 inches.

Thanks guys, its always great when your child asks you to go fishing. cant really say NO to that now can I

Here’s a few pix from last night:

As you can see there were no pix of me, all i did was bait hooks, and remove fish. It was a great time for Ava so that’s all that matters

Cool catch there. Thats actually a Golden Redhorse, not a Shorthead. Shortheads have red fins and tails.

    Thank you Mike & Doc!
Ok so this is a Golden Redhorse… Thank you for telling me. I Love how it almost looks like a grumpy grandpa or just really annoyed.. so when i look up online I cannot find any good sites to see different types, do you know any specie specific biology sites?

It doesn’t happen to be near a very large airport?
