Hello all, Well I thought I would really get them this weekend wow what a week does. I could not get on the bass to save my soul only got 1 fish. I believe the quick heating up of the water and the high water did not help. In central MN here I believe the bass have started to move away from spawning beds already? unless i’m mistaken. Anyone else notice it being slow most of the people at the landings said the same thing. Any ideas on getting some bass? thought about trying out that ned rig.

I fished the chisago area all weekend and did very well for bass. Still throwing wacky worms on the beds and under docks. It was very productive.
Now this morning with the storm blown in has changed the deal, now I’m throwing deep running jerk baits in 12 ft of water around all the breaks. Today is the slowest day since last week.

Awesome weekend for fishing, just had to put up with 15-25+ winds lol.

I was on Leech Lake and the winds were a pain. The bite was fairly slow, but consistent. Plenty of fish to be had, but a lot of smalls.

For me it was a rough fish fishing weekend.

Catch sheephead. Remove head. Add hook, catch Flathead.

Had to to 1# heads getting eaten by as small as 20″ flatheads.

It was pretty hit or miss for me. One lake bass were still on some beds and could be caught. The next lake I was on the fish were post spawn and you had to work a lot harder to catch them. We’ll see how they bite during my tourney on Sunday.

    Thanks guys,

Some times I need a kick in the pants to remember you don’t always get them. Sunday I was able to get a few more bass it was slow and most lakes here are 2 feet above usual. The pike were sure on fire I almost ran out of jigs little nerds.

I need a kick in the pants to remember to not try new lakes during a cold front-I struggled too on sat. should have gone to a lake I know well.

Traditionally I fish for panfish, so pretty much any size bass is going to get me all fired up, but I managed to land this guy using wacky worms the other night! The next night things were a bit slower and I caught mostly rock bass. They’re kinda fun to catch too, but not nearly as pretty.

Fishing slowed down for me after the 2nd when my motor went down. Can’t get to where I want to fish on the troller and all the close stuff isn’t holding fish yet. I’ve switch to fishing eye’s from shore at Mille Lacs for now. I’ve caught a couple small smallies doing that.
