Birds tearing it up on their way to roost. 7:08PM. They’ll be in the trees in a few minutes.

Heard one gobbling his head off while walleye fishing on the river this morning. So when does your season get started?

April 11-12 for my son Isaac in WI. First hunt he’ll get to bring a gun of his own with. Excited!

I’ve been seeing a few showing off in the mornings on my way to work and I’m getting pretty pumped! I can’t wait to hear that first gobble of the year.

Saturday the youth season starts here in Iowa. Unfortunately I can’t take my little guy until next week. I’ve been seeing some strutters around so I can’t wait to get out!

Same birds cracked off the first gobble at 5:45AM. Really tore it up until fly down at 6:08AM. Then they headed off with a purpose but still gobbling the whole way. Pretty cool hearing how excited they were, gets the blood pumping!

Good stuff Joel!!! Got a first season tag up here in the northland and we might even get away with hunting no snowpack this year!!! Haven’t really started scouting, but I “got a guy” that loves to turkey hunt and comes with to help me call… I had two toms fighting over the yellow line up here a week or so ago… Fortunately for them, not much traffic on that road, but probably every turkey hunter in that area has eyeballs on them!!! Good Luck, I will probably start cruising a bit next week. Gotta a chance to fish with my brother with Ted Peck on Friday, then hoping for a guy like Randy W. to find a crack in his busy schedule perhaps for Sat. or Sun. If not, perhaps a little stream trout fishing or maybe my partner for the Fri. trip might be interested in a trip to Milwaukee Harbor!!!

Looking forward to getting out scouting next week to see what the birds are doing. The landowners son has been doing some scouting for me and has been seeing tracks in a few areas on his land. Season B can’t come soon enough!

Won’t last long outside of a sporting goods store doing that! Reminds me of the birds that strut just outside the Cabelas Rogers location. )

NE here we come going to see those birds in roost tomorrow night. Maybe even have a bird on the ground before they go to roost. )

I hope this cooler weather slows them down a little in Central Minnesota. I’m C season ( April 25-29 ) Hope we are not past the peak and all Hen’s are not already on Nest by then. 2 Years ago the same season I hunted in over 2 Ft. of snow. Now this year I’m worried about being to far along. That’s Minnesota weather for you. Good luck everyone. Be Safe out there.

That can be the best time to be out when the girls are heading to their nest mid morning. I’ve killed birds after getting the kids on the bus during this phase. Sleep in and get breakfast before the hunt. A gobbling bird at 10 am with nested hens is looking to eat some lead. jmo

I’m seeing strutters everytime I leave the house basically now… Flocks are getting smaller. One place there were 8 strutters in one small field plus more gobbling in the woods around… geez, need to get permission there.

I saw lots and lots of broods last year and big flocks this winter so I’m guessing there will be ‘boner beards’ a plenty charging in gawking at the decoy. Should mean lots of 2 year olds next year!
