My guys are all still working as they are considered essential however my office is in my home so I am doing my normal thing just not going out as much. We have some guys that have asked for the layoff but no many.

I’m still working but my girlfriend is not. She’s a dog groomer so at least I can get a free haircut if the barbershop is closed down for a while

being a union thug I represent 7 shops. are field construction and all the shops have been deemed essential, so am I, however our union offices are closed but we are working from home. all our communication is dome via phone, email or conference calls!!!!

I have been in contact with all the shops, 1 offered a voluntary 2 week layoff. most the other shops are basicly throwing out there attendance policies and anyone that has any underlying conditions are allowed time away.

Took off few weeks as well. Have some subcontractor stuff I could do but figured if I can I’d better. Mid April starts big stuff.

I was working at home until Monday of this week. Furloughed for a couple weeks, hopefully not much longer. The new Cares Act will definitely help maintaining finances, as I shouldn’t be losing too much for wages in comparison to my base pay, but the less time I can spend out of work the better. When cuts started rolling into our engineering department I knew things weren’t exactly peaches and cream for our design team.

Time to get the flooring in the kitchen done and build a couple work benches for the garage! May have to drown some stickbaits on the big lake too..

I’m working 1 day a week limited hours subject to change as information changes and my wife is a nurse at a retirement community so she is still working full time. Praying for better times for everyone.

    Working from the boat.

Wife is painting the inside of the house. (although I can’t get her to paint the ceilings). She’s out of work for two weeks…minimum.

Before I left for the boat I pulled out three tube type tv’s and some wall mounts. I’ve come to realize having a tv in every room is not what I thought it was going to be. crazy

My FW is a Nurse & is still caring for people at the “Old Folks Home”. She’s been picking up more & more hours since this all started. The money is great, the time away from home is not..

I’m still working as an “essential” Tool Maker. The production side of the shop does work on some Medical & Ag parts which deems us essential. I’ve been working on designing a Bolt Catch for Diamondback for 2 weeks. (critical, I know coffee ). The boss did cut hours this week though for at least the next 2 weeks. Taking it week by week. We’re down too only working 34 hrs Monday-Thursday with Friday off but, getting paid for 40 hrs. So that’s a huge plus!

Also retired. But the wife is still working. Nice gig huh? jester
Wife is a essential business and has her official papers which allows her to travel about the local area. We have had a distribution business for about 25 years. As luck would have it it involves food/grocery. We sold off about 70% of it almost 3 years ago now which allowed me to retire. I’m almost 5 years older than her so she wanted to keep the rest of the business and work for awhile yet.

Business has been booming to say the least! wink

I work as auto technician so we are considered essential. The problem is that we’ve basically ran out of work. The phones have been dead for two weeks. With everything going on, vehicle maintenance and repairs are apparently very low on many people’s priority list. Right now we are talking about unemployment and other options for the coming weeks.

We are deemed essential even though we shouldn’t be.
I am not going in even though the boss would like me too.

There is help for you and your boss to cover expenses like payroll and unemployment. Your tax man or accountant should have information. If not now, soon.

Same here! except I’m semi retired. I own my own construction company so I get to work when someone really wants to hand me money.

Yes. Fortunately for us, we have options. Our business is small (3 of us) and going without work hurts right away.
Right now we are leaning towards government loans vs. unemployment, both our bank and accountant agreed that it’s the best option for us. A loan would cover payroll for up to 8 weeks. Hopefully that will get us through the worst of this pandemic. Hoping to have things ironed out by the end of the week or early next week.

I’m self-employed so I’m never out of work, but this should be the busy season and it’s been very slow. Since this is a seasonal business, I only hope can recover in May/June. All our spring trade shows have been canceled. We’ll see.

Mrs. Grouse is still employed, thankfully.

Honestly, compared to what others are going through, we have absolutely nothing to complain about. Yes, the kids are doing school online, but we are healthy, have the bills paid, have insurance, and a paid-for roof over our heads. Everything else is small potatoes compared to what others are dealing with.

We know 2 couples, both with kids, who are both hourly employees and are both laid off. Also a single mom neighbor of ours has 2 teenaged boys and she’s laid off plus she doubts her employer will survive, so she’s pretty depressed about the whole situation as she’ll probably have to spend time finding a new job even after all this is over for most. Like I said, nothing on my end to complain about, lots of people have it worse.

On the bright side, Mrs. Grouse has moved forward with her own version of an economic stimulus package. New carpet in whole house has been ordered. New curtains all around. New entryway bench/wardrobe. I have been put on painting duty for the next lord knows how many days. Bathroom done, living room done, hall done, stairway done, only 2 rooms to go…….

And yesterday she looked at the landscaping and said it looks sad and old and we need a new paver walkway to the front door, so I have this bad, bad feeling…

Split my staff in 2, one week on, one week off until it blows over. Working this week, off the next.

My wife and I are both working from home. With more and more places shutting down for the time being I have less to do than what I am used to. I am salary and was told by the company that we will be paid as normal unless this drags on into like October or something crazy. Which has been really nice since I’ve been taking my kayak out a lot more than I usually do this time of year.

I work for a medical diagnostics company so we are essential. I am in the high risk group so I am working from home. Others are rotating at work and at home since we do a lot of lab work. Just got a press release that my company will be working on the antibody tests for Covid-19. This will determine if someone has been exposed to the virus and made antibodies to it and thus should be immune to it. The program is on the fast track so let’s hope everything goes well and it gets to market ASAP.

Mrs. Bucky is an emergency room lead RN who is luckily on maternity leave for 6 more weeks. Her employer is telling her that they anticipate a peak in early May, with many of their imposed mandates going well into June at a minimum. They currently get one mask that has to last them 2 full shifts and the supply will hopefully get them through 2 more weeks at most.

I’m an AD & Dean for our area school and am basically alternating working from school and from home each day. The logistics of this have been a nightmare, but each day gets a slight bit easier.

Much like Grouse said, we are thankful and blessed to keep our jobs and pay. Financially we are only being hurt with some of our investments, but we’re young enough that most won’t be touched for a long time and can recover in value.

Work hasn’t changed and if anything the hours may increase. No working from home in armed security.

I manage a auto repair facility, still working but have felt the impact in business.
