Searching the net for some rod protectors/socks and stumbled on “The Rods Glove”. Does anyone have any experience with these? Looking for the good and the bad. Also looking for other suggestions.

    Thanks,

Best ones that I have found. Lots of colors and lengths. Some other brands won’t fit over the bigger eyes on your spinning rods. When I ordered mine the guy I talked to was in his boat fishing and gave me 20% off the price. waytogo

The problem I ran into with rod socks, gloves, etc was that they protected the rod – but not the reel. I put a bunch of rods in my rod locker and drove up to Rainy a few years ago… rods were in good shape but the reels clang’d against each other all the way up. A couple really got dinged up and I even had to replace a part on one. So, I found these – check out the “Combo Cover,” have used them for 3 years now and no damage to any of my rods or reels..

I use the Cabelas brand along with the neoprene reel cover. There are two types of rod covers, one just straight nylon and one with about 12″ of a nylon covered tube that will cover lures still attatched.
