The inner ring of the tip of my Loomis Walleye rod came out. Dropped it off at Blue Ribbon Bait Sunday afternoon. They have a guy (David Nasby I think is his name) that picks up the rods and fixes them. He called me on Monday to confirm he had my rod and warned me that he has had trouble removing the eyes from Loomis rods. The glue they use sometimes doesn’t allow them to just be heated up to remove them. He indicated worse case I might lose 1/4 – 1/2 inch in length if it doesn’t come off. He said he should have it done and back at Blue Ribbon by Wed. Sure enough, he called on Wed and it was done. He did have to take off about 1/4 inch to replace the tip. Picked it up on Wed afternoon. He did a great job. He charged 10.00. Thought that was a pretty fair price too. I have a couple eyes damaged on 2 musky rods I plan to drop off next week.
