Eagle Claw makes a 43x12x17 rod box.I picked one up at Fleet Farm for about $40.
They are designed to hold 6 rods but I easily get 8 in it.
No need to fold reel handles either.

Picked one of these up last season. Nice box at a nice price.

x2 The latches and hinges are not heavy duty but if you are not beating the crap out of your case this looks to be a solid storage case. I plan to pick one up also.

Jamin, you can buy just the insert if you already have the case. It can fit 4 rods with reels and no need to fold the handles plus 2 extra rods without reels and Tackle storage boxes. Send an email request to [email protected] to order.

Has anyone used the Kolpin rod holder? Clam has it on their site, just wondering if you can open it with it sitting upright or if you have to unattach it so your rods wouldn’t all fall out?

Todd, thanks for the info. I had emailed TUCR on Monday and got a response (dont’ recall from who) that they’d be up on the site when available. I was hoping to pay and get on waiting list to secure one from the next shipment. Oh well.

x3 got mine last year and very pleased with it. Also has slots for plenty of tackle boxes.

I have 3 Plano dbl scope plastic gun cases. Work great for my situation. Couldn’t be run over by a truck though. I used gorilla glue to glue the foam down. Reels need to be broken down.

I second the Otterbox. It can only hold rods up to 38″, but if that isn’t a problem for you, it is a super strong box. Also check out the new insert for the box designed by Tuned Up Custom Rods. This insert allows the rods to be secured and still leave space to store tackle and other gear. These are pretty awesome. They will be available at the Tuned Up booth at the ice show and on the Tuned Up website.

It looks like the rod tips lay on the opposite reels in the pic. Is seems like a great idea just a little worried about that. Has any testing been done?
