    Guys,

I am considering going to longer rod for lindy rigging. I typically use the 6 1/2 foot but considering going to 7 1/2
does anyone have an opinion on this. I think the longer rod will allow me to not have to let line out as much for finicky bites.

    Let me know your opinion.

I switched to a 76L rod last year and loved it. Definitely a difference maker on allowing the angler to really feel out a bite without the fish knowing. Those finicky bites i was catching fish when others werent.

Went with a HMG i believe, has a very nice noodle type power in the L. The more expensive rods L or ML actions were too stiff for me for what i wanted. Keeps those small hooks pinned really well too.

Gonna switch to 832 on it this year though. With the length it looses sensitivity. All other braids are stiff, but the suppleness i didnt like causing windknots on my past experiences might work really well for this application.

I use up to 12′ rods. They all have their place and personal preference is huge. Guys about poop themselves when I’m dragging with a 10-1/2 foot rod and they they are stuck on a 6 foot broom stickb for finicky bites. Best bet is to trylonger rods and find what your comfortable with
