Rod holders for spinning rods

Crew, I’m looking to add a few rod holder to my boat specifically for spinning rods. These will be used primarily when drifting or using bobbers.

Given the price of a decent spinning rod combo these days, my main objective is to get them off the floor so that they don’t get stepped on or become a tripping hazard.

Most holders are truly designed for trolling with baitcasters.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I have Ram rod holders and they work well for spinning rods.

I like Scotty rod holders. The ones I have are clamp-on ones so I can transfer them easily from my canoes to my boat. The ones I have are designed for baitcasters, but work with spinning reels too, you just have to deal with the reel sideways at a 90-degree angle. I think they have other designs as well, but I’m not sure.

Scotty Rocket Launchers are universal for spinning and bait casters.

They’re nice because they keep the rod butt out of the boat (giving you more room inside the boat)

They tip up vertical really easy too, which makes for nice storage when running to the next spot. No need to lay the rods down in the boat or put them in the locker. Just tip them up and go.

I like my Scotty 280-BK…90% of the time mine have a spinning rod in them. The rubber strap seems ok on them and they are pretty universal. My wife uses a spincast reel (don’t ask) and it fits fine in these as well.

I like the simplicity of the Scotty Rocket Launchers…but I wish they had a slot on the end for the spinning reel to slide into.

Is there another brand of rocket-launcher style holders with such a slot? Ideally, one that can be placed on the Lund Sport Trac?

It wouldn’t take much to put a slot in one of the rocket launchers using a dremel and a coarse grit sanding drum. I may actually try that out soon.

Scotty #350-BK have worked well for me.

Sort of like the rocket launcher, but with a notch for spinning reels.

I like my Ram rod holders they work well with either spinning or baitcasters. What I like is just tip the rod up and slide out of the side of the holder, no reason to reach out over the side of the boat.

I like my driftmaster pro duo rod holders for all rods.
