wondering if there is a way to reuse the cork handles from broken or unused rods. I doubt it, but though maybe someone has done it. Thanks.

I’ve heard of people using a steel rod that fits loosely in the blank and heating the length up to glowing and inserting it into the blank. Epoxy doesn’t like heat and will break loose when hot, allowing you to pull the blank out. This will effectively ruin the blank as well.

However, unless you have some expensive or elaborate handle it really isn’t worth the effort.

Interesting, and yeah, the more I think about it, it just doesn’t seem worth it. I had a lot of time and effort in those handles and wanted to save them if I could. Thanks

I save my cork handles from open water rods that I have broken and use them for ice rod’s.
