It was great to meet some familiar names for the first time, and to see some old faces as well. Although the fish didn’t cooperate, who can complain with the good company, good food and drink, and decent weather? Thanks for putting the outing together, Riverbank.

Hey Guys thanks for hanging out today. RB thanks for the organization and tip. It was fun even without the fish. Great weather. Great guys. Sorry I had to leave early but did get some wifey credits for maybe next week for an outing. Did make it to the boat show with my son which is always fun. All in all a great day.

    Until next time.

Kind of got a touch of the ice-fishing bug. WeFish was telling me about hitting the hard water on the Rock. That would be cool as long as someone else tests the ice first.

We definetly had fun Saturday although the fish weren’t very co-operative. The cherries and Polish saugages were excellent. The weather was as good as one could expect for the end of January too.

As far as fishing on moving water, need to find slack areas as fish normally don’t want to fight the current all the time… I’ve got half of a floating suit and would be up to exploring somewhere this weekend..
RB, haven’t forgot about those riggers, just been busy having to work .

    Z-man:

As you can tell I didn’t make it and had I seen your post on the great lakes section, I would have tried to get a response out. At that time I knew I would not be able to make it, but in the IDO tradition, the Rock River Rats put the invite out to more peeps & that’s a good thing!!!

Hoping to get down to the WI River below the Pete Dam to fish a bit more this spring!!!

You didn’t miss a bunch of fishing action, but the company and chow were superb! Maybe we’ll catch you at the Pete one of these times. Being in the Minoqua area, you probably have a bit longer wait for the open water stuff than we have down here.

Spent some time in Kenosha in .’05 and got to fish the harbor in Racine from the boat… While it takes longer for the water to open up here, we do get to enjoy some superb panfishing on some really nice days, having been chased of the ice by a fairly severe T-storm one spring day. Lake Superior does open early because of the wind so there is some big water opportunities there and Nekoosa/Pete dam areas are only 1.5-2 hours away. A couple of weeks after that the WI River opens in the Tomahawk area, so its not too bad.

I also grew up in Cambridge, my wife is from Fort, we still have family in the area and I have many friends who fish the Rock during the spring. In fact I have ties to WeFish and I think I probably played softball against Patrick before our beerbellys started to grow…

In my youth I spent many a night on Koshkonong ice fishing before the ‘eye population was given its boost by the Bark River hatchery. Slept more than I caught fish, I bet.

    Enough for now!!!

Well, you’re actually closer to the Petenwell dam than me…takes me about 2.5 hours to get there.
Anyway, if you ever make it down here to your old stomping grounds, let me know ahead of time, and we can get out on the Rock or Kosh or lake MI, or…

There’s no fish on the rock or dead sea Ed stick to Petenwell or you might get schooled

Thinking about hooking up with WeFish for the weekly Anchor Inn Tourneys, if he doesn’t mind schooling me. Don’t know if I can handle the competition, though, unless we add carp and cats to the catch list.
