January 3, 2011 at 8:52 pm #922176Back at all of you….sorry it took me so long, but am a bit sunburnt from a week in San Diego visiting our son.
So when’s this Kosh hardwater outing planned for?January 4, 2011 at 2:56 am #922308Havent heard of much going on on kosh this yr(tho i ahvent been out fishing it yet),was at lake of the woods before the holidays,my arm got a work-out.any lake would be fine kosh, ripley, even racine harbor, i have a bag load of skein from this past summer.open to any ideas
January 4, 2011 at 3:09 am #922315yeah happy new year. was up north last week catching some fish. i havent been on kosh since first ice and i never had a flag so i stopped going out. i’ll post some pics from our up north trip.
January 5, 2011 at 4:04 am #922722Id be up for Racine,i have plenty of skien for anyone that wants to go,just need to get some spawn sacs together, and some minnows(big pike at times too).those that havent fished browns down there before, just need a jig rod/slip bobber rig,and 2 tips ups. anyone else in?
January 5, 2011 at 4:16 pm #922847Going to have to dust off the Beaver Dams. Haven’t used them in over 10 years. Sounds like a fun outing. Have a buddy from Chi-town that would probably join us if it’s a Saturday.
January 6, 2011 at 12:43 am #923055I’d be game. Got the gear. Just need to dig it out from the other fishing stuff. Just need some lead time to check schedules with the Fam.

January 6, 2011 at 1:38 am #923091Im in for this sat(8th) or next saturday(15th),either day is open for me.i do have gear for 2 guys(autofisherman, tips ups rigged, and jig rods ready)if anyone wants to go,and doesnt have the gear ready. sounds like the ice on kosh is a bit sketchy anyway,as it ate a quad, and a truck on a big open freeze crack last weekend.
January 7, 2011 at 12:17 am #9235188th looks cold and windy, I’m more of a fair weather guy unless there’s shelter for fixing rods so my fingers don’t fall off. 15th is out for me. Any other Saturday is good for me through Feb. If you’re talking the big lake I’d need a license but it sounds like fun, I’ve never did that. I have tip-ups but only panfish rods but could probably throw something together. What kind of rod do you use and what kind of line & # test works best? How do you rig the tip-ups so I’m ready to go? I’ve been at Ripley a few times and do ok but only those really working hard and have experience on that lake are catching a few fish. A place with more action would be fun. I’ve been doing great at the pond too but it’s not big enough for all of you.
January 7, 2011 at 1:08 am #923563any med. jig rod will work,6lb mono on it works fine, need small chartruse single hook, number 10,and small slip bobber,i have all that stuff if needed(just stop by the house greg).for tips you need at least a 8ft to 10ft long 6lb floro leader, and number 10 or 12 treble for skien.i plan on bringing my flip over shack also.i do know that jan 22-23 eric hataaja has his brown trout school at racine harbor, and feb 5-6 is the brown trout derby,so will be packed those days.i can be free for most sat or sun if i know ahead of time.the mid to late feb bite can be good also
January 8, 2011 at 4:19 am #923996Sorry for being late but I can’t do the eight. Heading to vegas for a week long conference so gotta do the family time. I am otherwise open most sat with some notice.

January 8, 2011 at 1:19 pm #924048Lets go for the 29th,we can meet in front of spinakers in racine harbor to park(7am).anyone in the Fort area can ride with me if youd like,or follow me down, ive been there plenty of times if someone needs gear.will hook ya up. i also have two friends that i fish with alot heading down too.i will bring my gas auger to make hole punching easier.
January 10, 2011 at 1:55 am #924527Unless something on the home-front gets in the way, looks like a good date for me too. Have a couple buddies that would probably go too. Sounds like a good time.
January 22, 2011 at 4:09 pm #929131Whos in for the 29th? sounds like its been slow, but its been that way all yr for me except for lake of the woods trip. I have skien, but need to get some spawn sacs yet(may have to have one of you guys near milw. to pick me some up),otherwise im set to go.
January 22, 2011 at 7:10 pm #929164At this stage, looking good for me, and may have a buddy or two join us. Will take a look in the freezer to see if I have any spawn or skein in there from last year. Can also pick up some shiners in Mukwanago on my way there. Bought a ten dollar rhino jigging rod at Fleet Farm last week, just for the occasion. Will get the Beaver Dams out of the box and dust them off, too.
Thanks for taking the lead on this, Riverbank. Who else might be in??January 22, 2011 at 7:56 pm #929173I am in for the outing. Maybe see I can get my buddy Larry to join in. If you need spawn sack I can check bob’s bait in west allis since it is on the way for me.
I guess I better check the gear since I am committed or should be committed as the wife says.
January 22, 2011 at 9:26 pm #929190Thanks Derek,i usually get my spawn sacs from bobs also, when i head down that way, just havent been in the area lately.a couple bags should do it for me.Im also bringing the gas auger, fired it up today, running good. Will bring tip ups, auto fisherman, and shack too.
