Jeff prayers sent,
Joann can’t fish she gets up at 2:00 AM every morning, still thinking. To bad they don’t allow three person teams.

It looks like recruiting for the Thursday night league is on! I’m going to need a partner for the last week in May and first week in June and there’s now 3 guys I know that want a partner so they can use their own boats. It’s going to be nice to have you in the league Andy! Welcome aboard and good luck. Does that mean we have to start keeping some secrets after sharing them the last few years?
I hav’nt committed yet. I would like to do it, I may fish by myself. I’m in it for the fun and yes I hope we can share our secrets. (Its 20% technique and 80% luck).

Thursday night league’s been on my mind the past couple years, but haven’t pulled the trigger. Hooking up with one of you guys might get me off the fence if someone is really desperate for a partner ….the possible conflicts on the work front have made me skiddish, but sounds like a blast.
If someones really scraping the bottom of the barrel for a fill in guy,id hop on board.id need a little advanced warning so i can put some new 75 lb test mono on my trusty old zebco 33 and repaint a few of my 3oz jigs

I’d go with spark plugs. They have built in action.
I love all the chatter, it’s like old times, just that I’m not doing fishing reports and telling you all my secerts anymore.
keep it going guys
Good luck to Sam getting better for the tourney. My oldest son was state runner-up at 119 in 96. Can relate to the dissipointment it would be to miss it.

Thanks kv56, I’ve been follow him the last three years, it would be a bummer if he don’t make it his senior year.
Hope he gets better for state tourney.as an x -high school and college wrestler,i know how much time and effort that is put into that sport.i still keep an eye on the state wrestling results
Sam is ranked #1 on both sites, crossface and WI Wrestling, it would be a waste if he couldn’t wrestle because of a illness.

Sure there ya ago giving away my kosh/rock river secret the 75lb line was tied to the spark plug, then a short dropper to the 3oz jighead(can be used with crawler harness also).well there goes the walleye fishery around here all the cool kids are doing it ya know
Sounds like a sweet speed trolling rig Probably cast it a mile too, but watch out for branches. That little sucker would probably wrap around the limbs like a son of a gun.

Sounds like you have been there
(just like the rest of us)
ya, been there. I remember one year. Really high water. Was pitching crankbaits into yards on the river. Jeff and I assume data were watching me. Was a bit embarrassed as I wrestled a $7 crank from a dock post! Of course lost it. I couldnt hear them laughing but sure they were.
Looking at making another trip to racine harbor for brown trout/steelies.Will prob be the 21st.anyone wanna go?,i have plenty of skein/sacs and gear.

post later in the week again for a reminder, I just might take you up on this one. So far I have the 21st open, any one else?
No idea how to do that kind of fishing, but would like to give it a try.
Yes please repost a reminder. If you can give some times when you plan to be there I may try to come out of ice fishing retirement with my gear.
If I can get clearance from clarance.

Went to Newville this morning for a ride with the wife and saw the open water man do I have the fever now.

Aww Man don’t tell me that!!! Better yet don’t remind Z-man. He already has the fever and passed it on to me already.
It won’t be long now. The average temp in just two weeks is 36, in one month it’s 43 and by the end of March we’re at 50! I think it’s been below average for awhile so it’s due to change.
Yeah hey,im ready for some open water myself.tho some of april will be taken up with gobblers.i got zone 2 first period, and my 12 yr old daughter will be on her first turkey hunt during the youth hunt, and her regular tag of zone 2 last period.after that its all fishing till mid sept
The 21st is a go for me for browns/steelies .im looking to head out about 5am,get there around 6:30.i have enough gear and bait ready to go for a couple guys,.tho if more are interested in going, its pretty easy to get set up.thing i like about racine,is you can also use med shiners, get trout/steelies,and some huge pike roam around too
21st is out for me know, the wife reminded me that next weekend I’ll be gone four days to the fishing expo so she wants me to do family time this weekend
wow i just got a huge open water itch from a report on lake-link. well i still got a couple more times on hard water yet but them open water eyes cant come soon enough. to bad the dells isnt closer. hopefully if not next week then the following week.
Day Dreaming……
What is the Thursday night outings??? Due to a major change in my Father’s health, I’m dropping out of everything this year to stay local. I might be interested in getting out for a evening after work
That’d be the Anchor Inn Walleye League, http://www.anchorfun.com, I think. There’s posts from last year a ways back. It starts mid-April and runs to mid-July. You don’t have to show up every week but there is a season payout. Fishing starts at 4:30. We weigh your best 7 walleye/sauger. 1-2 people per boat, $10 each. $8 of that is paid out weekly to first and 2nd place. $2 is kept for year-end payout to 1st, 2nd & 3rd place. We also all throw in $5/week for big fish which is what everyone shoots for since the payout can be pretty good if enough people show up. Probably a third fish without a partner. There’s not too many that make it every week. The $10 boat launch fee at Anchor Inn is waived for league boats on Thursday nights.
