Thanks for all the reports IDO gang. The reports don’t get me that pumped up yet so I’m sticking to hunting. Walleye fishing has been tough this year so thank you to the IDO gang for keep trying and reporting. I know the weak fishery has turned me and can’t wait to get back out. On vacation all next week

I did hear from an old friend Saturday that he and his buddy took home two limits of eater walleyes and CPR two 8 pounders a 7 and 6. Now that report got me pumped up but I still haven’t made it out. oh yeah top secert spot to which I showed him a few years back.

It’s just going to be a little harder – they took the dock out at Kmart and it looks like they’re heading downtown to take that one out too.

Guess it’s time to bring the knee-high rubbers along for launching and landing. Since all you hunter-dudes are going to be tied up in the woods next week chasing Bambi, going to be lonely out there on the Rock, for some bonus late-Nov. fishing days. last year at Thanksgiving, we had to break ice to get from the downtown launch to the Bark, and couldn’t go any further…it got too thick. Looks like she might stay open longer this year, which is fine with me as I don’t do the hard-water stuff. good luck with the hunt, fellas.

Got out today from 915 to 315. What a great fishing day weather wise. Fishing for me was pretty good. Ended up with 15, 15.5, 16, and 19 for the day. Lost three others that were very nice. Caught a good number of smaller fish and a northern (small). I only saw two boats today but I guess everyone else is hunting.

Don’t be afraid to explore. You might get lucky.

Way to go , Diesel. So when’s the fish fry?? Heading over to the Rock in the morning, but not bright and early. Will be launching at Blackhawk, to enjoy some of these bonus days on the water. Fish or no fish, gotta love it. good luck to all the Bambi hunters.

Fished today from 10 till 4 or so, from VFW to Kosh. Had a buddy join me till 1 pm, when he had to take off. Finished out solo. Boated about 20 eyes, with 4 legals at 15, 16.5, 18 and a big fat 24incher. Plastics took the smaller fish, with 3 of the legals coming on live bait. Just a perfect day on the water. Lots of boats out there today. Pretty much stayed away from the crowds, targeting 9 to 11 fow.
also hit Lake MI yesterday afternoon, and my buddy got the biggest smallie I’ve ever seen. Only 21 inches long, but massive. Boated 4 or 5 others, 15 to 20 inches. Will post pics on lake MI post when I get around to it in the next day or two.

Live bait, hmmm soon databoy will be saying he’s using live bait

Plastic and gulp are great at times but never go fishing without live bait.

Congrads Z-man and Derek on a good day on the water. Thanks for the report.

Well, plastic’s all I typically use this time of year, but after a humbling day last Sunday, with only a few shorts on plastic and no minnows in the boat, decided to cry uncle and bring some minnows, and this time, they helped..

For $3.00 a dozen it’s always worth just stopping in at the bait shop to get a dozen “just one dozen” to support the local bait shop plus sometime a wealth of great fishing info.

That’s the way I look at it anyway

Haven’t used live bait in a while but will have to grab some “just in case”

Any frogs in the fishies? Mine only had perch but I expect that considering where I am fishing.

My buddy told me the 15 incher had a frog in the belly…..not in the 16.5 or 18.

That was the other picture I had, with the fish on a measuring stick, but deleted it…. so you’ve taken those foot shots before, too?

Fished the Rock today from 10 till 4, and what a day it was!! weather-wise, that is. a true gem for late November. Launched at the Riverfront tavern, and after one drift just up from the tavern, headed to the VFW and did the milk-run down back to the mouth. Got a total of 16 eyes/ sauger, all but one on plastic; most came in 10 to 12 fow. Went shallow a few times, and into the wood, and no bites. . While live bait saved the day last Saturday, no legals in the boat today. Chartreuse paddletail was the bait of choice, but did get a couple on 4 inch gulp minnow. Water temps were 40 degrees, so hopefully, may have another week or two of open-water oportunity on the Rock.

Well guys, I guess I am putting boat away for the year. Hate to do it but don’t see much choice since the forecast for below freezing lows at night and one with a 17 degree low. Overall, this fall I have done better on the rock than in many years. Learned a bunch and found a couple spots on the lake that might be good for pitching under the right conditions. And yes this place is not the world famous rock pile

So good luck to all. Be safe on the ice and good hunting.

    Wish I had a heated garage .

Oh well maybe in the next house.

Think I’ll make one last trip to do some shore fishing in Fort tomorrow. In 3 previous trips only got 2 short walleyes. Supposed to be 50 and sunny tomorrow. Hopefully I can put something in the freezer. Thanks for all the reports and I hope ya’ll have a great ice season.
