Haven’t hit the Rock in quite a while. Had an opportunity to head to Canada with my son present itself, so off we go on july 20 for 7 day trip. Going to give Ghost River Lodge a try, on Lake marchington plus a few portage lakes. Pretty good deal for father/son package. It will be the first Canadian trip for this son, so hoping he gets hooked bad so I have to take him back again and again and…..

Good Luck Ed. Can’t wait till my son is old enough for big trips like that. A while away but eagerly anticipated.

I’ve been out twice and boated shorts and one good cat. Glad I went to the BWCAW (boundary waters)–it was catching, not fishing up there. BTW, caught my personal best fish–a 15#, 34″ Lake Trout which eclipsed my 9# Brown Trout. 37 minutes to land her on 6# test. Oh, and in a 18′, 35″ beam Wenonah Minnesota II for those of you who take up the paddle once in awhile. Thanks to my fishing partner, Adam, for hand landing the big girl.

The Wife and I went fishing for Gills at our favorite lake Sunday. Water Temp 70 degrees, very little wind out of the west but it was enough for a drift. The wife was catching lots of bass and the gill bite was none. I managed to catch this nice 18 inch eye and we had it for supper tonight using Joanns secret receipe.
