well we’ll let you know how newville’s doing tommorow night. does any one know if you have to pay to launch at the anchor inn with it still being flooded?
May 3, 2009 at 3:03 pm #773417After getting blown around on Whitewater Lake and my car smashed by a air borne box spring that flew out of a pickup I got on the windy river for a couple hours and got 2 bites, one whitebass and a 26″ pig.
May 4, 2009 at 12:18 am #773473Nice fish Gregg glad to see you’re alright. A week ago I hit a deer with the wifes Tahoe and now a box spring hits you and Jeff is still trying to catch a walleye. Are luck is gotta change.Oh the pan fish bite is starting to pick-up on Rock and Ripley with some nice bass being caught here and there.

May 4, 2009 at 12:20 am #773474I took my 6 year old out today (my extreme net man) with my last 2 crawlers from yesterday and managed two 20″ walleyes on one crawler on our first drift. Tried a second drift with Gulp but didn’t have any takers. Nice afternoon, only a couple other boats on the water and none of them were fishing anywhere near us so we had it all to ourselves. Oh, the dock is in at the bypass as of yesterday.
May 4, 2009 at 2:19 am #773515well we made it up to newville today. fished the bridges for a while and got a 2 keepers and a couple shorts v-jigging with minnows. then we trolled out to the mouth and a little into the lake. we also stopped and v-jigged the mouth for a while and caught some shorts and some white bass on plastics. we caught some small walleyes/saugers with 1 keeper and a northern trolling. drifted in the lake a little bit and only had one bite. finally caught some fish trolling. water temp 56-58 lots of people out trolling but not a lot of catching

May 10, 2009 at 12:03 am #775349Good to see you out there, Databoy and Denny. Was going to go to Lake WI, but ended up having to go to work for a half day. Seems that I got there a bit too late. Just after you guys took off, all the other boats left too within 30 minutes or so, and it was only me and one other boat. Only got two legals, a 21 incher and a 17 incher, a few dinks, and a Brazilian white bass. But it was a perfect day weather-wise…very calm for a change. Best depths for me were 8 to 10 feet, and picked up some eyes on paddletails and jig/crawler…didn’t bring any minnows. Had 8 inch eyes inhaling those paddletails.
May 10, 2009 at 1:31 pm #775416Thanks for the report Z-man
Might be out today but plan to leave the eyes alone at Blackhawk and look for another school. I’m hoping if I stay away until next Thursday and Saturday I will be able to cash in again.
Try to keep it queit guys and just maybe the gold nuggets will last just a little longer.

tough day for most anglers like myself. we caught one nice keeper and 8 shorts and couple white bass. Most fish caught trolling. Trollers rule the water right now. Great to see everyone had a great time and like always learned alot and had a blast.
Thank you John at Anchor Inn for all the work you did to make this day so fun, Thank you John

May 23, 2009 at 5:46 pm #778835Wondering what’s up with the whitebass run? Anybody?
(NON-FISHING POST)
Jeff,
I was on a plane to Vegas on the 13th. I was sitting next to two guys from Ft Atkinson. I asked them if they knew you and the guy next to me shows me a business card with your name on it and says your his boss. I told him to mention our meeting, but he probally forgot. Small world eh!
May 29, 2009 at 2:22 am #780167how’d the league go tonight? you guys have been really quite. there must be a good bite going right now.
May 31, 2009 at 10:35 pm #780650Everybody caught some fish Thursday though it was a low turnout, maybe 10-12 boats. This weekend is a different story… lots of boaters and violators! Where’s the law enforcement? They would have made a bundle today, thought they were short on cash. So much for no wake, especially when it was time to make it to the boat landing – I had 4 boats zip past me and just give me a funny look when I yelled it was a no wake. Then they all power loaded like it was their first time ever. At least I had a chance to give them a look back when I told them to read the board and I had their registration numbers. Fishing sucks when more then half the boats drop and anchor in your path and then cast as far as they can to force you nearly to the other side of the river. I hope it rains every weekend – I have a good rain suit and the yoyo’s stay home, otherwise I’ll only be fishing weekdays/nights.
June 1, 2009 at 12:19 am #780665yeah there were lots of yahoos out there today. plenty of violaters down by newville in the river. we fished for a while today picked up 1 legal trolling and 1 casting the lake and a bunch of white bass casting paddletails in the lake. good thing we left at 2 because thats when all the yahoos started coming out. there s also a lot of people who dont know how to back there boat in the water either
