    Anyone know if Newville has open water?? Temps heading up later in the week, so it’s time to get the cobwebs off of the boat somewhere.

    it was really slow on mud lake yesterday and there was a whole ice village out there. yes newville was open between the bridges and a little past them but if go farther down river its iced in. anchor launch was open but unplowed/cleared but dnr was iced in.

    supposed to be warm this weekend,so gonna hit monona bay with/kiddos sun aft. leave about 11am,anyone like to meet up,let me know,i have portable shack,fish cam,and jiffy power auger.seeing the kids are going,sure we will have a nerf football and hot choc also,lol

    Actually, Newville has frozen over now and then over the years, along the shorelines including the Anchor inn and adjacent marina, and sometimes skim ice across the river, making launching ugly. Anyway, looks like I’ll be getting my open water fix at the Petenwell Dam Friday and Saturday. Won’t be long, though, till the open-water chatter on the Rock thread starts picking up.
