Is this the same river that was almost bone dry a year or so ago?

Amazing how fast rivers can change, even big rivers like the Mrs herself.

I live outside of Milan on high, dry ground. I feel sorry for those that live on the Rock. Living there is definately a double edged sword. Sounds like lots of people are without power because the ice coming down sheared off a bunch of utility poles. FEMA, and the Homeland Defense people have been around for a few days now. I drove down and had a look see today, looks like most of the ice is gone in places, hopefully it will recede soon.

a lot of people are blaming the new bridge between milan and moline/rock island. don’t know what they can do about it now though. unless there’s something they can mount on the pilings to break up the ice that flows down. heard of a family friend that has never seen water in his house in 36 years. yep, he got flooded out. looks like it going down good now.
