Now I know why I didn’t get any repleys on Anybody fishing the Rock River this weekend Because there was nobody fishing this morning. Man is this great not having to worry about anglers dropping anchors on your fishing line or running there boats full speed by you when your fishing. The morning was beautiful and no anglers in sight but what I did see was a couple of deer running around a male bald eagle all kinds of animals, oh yeah a couple goose hunters and down river I did see some cat fisherman but that was about it. I love my privacy and this is the time of year I get it. The walleye fishing is slow but you can always fine two or three in a four hour morning or afternoon. Also this time of year every time you go out your wondering if this is going to be the start of that hot fall run. This morning I caught a couple nice walleyes and lost a nice walleye at the boat, at least five pounds, it broke my four pound test line. I think it was my mistake because I tried to horse him away from my trolling motor and his teeth cut the line . I do have some nice pictures of some of the 16 incher . I will fish Sunday most of the day and hopfully have something to report Monday. Watch for my report on this Weekends Outing on Rock River at the Entrance . Have a wonderful weekend and be safe out there. Tight lines and don’t horse them walleyes around the trolling motor .

PS. If you havn’t checked out my Labor Day weekend report yet click here.

I can’t figure it out, hmmm. Sunday I never caught a fish, actually I never got a walleye bite. I caught white bass and sheeppies but that was about it. So I don’t really have enough to post at the entrance so I’ll stay right here untl next week. After Saturday I thought these fish were going to turn on, well that’s fishing, it was great just to be out , talk to you soon.

The fish all made the mistake of watching the Packers too, they won’t do that next week!

Fished Sunday afternoon and this morning, the vertical jig bite is starting to pick up. Water temp down to 67 this morning but I’m sure it was back up to the 70 by midday. Water was up a couple of inches after all that rain but not enough. The Newville area was slow but I did manage to get a nice 25 inch walleye and some shorties. Blackhawk Island on my way home nothing. You would think that place would start popping pretty soon.
