The last couple days has been tough fishing and boat control with the wind. Anybody have any luck Wednesday and Thursday?

we didn’t do any better yesterday, after we talked, jeff. Just 3 shorts, few white bass, and a big carp that one of the boys caught by the lips…hit a shiner/jig. He had fun, though, and that’s what counts. Chased musky today on Okauchee with a nephew from chi-town, and that was a big zilcho.
November 3, 2007 at 1:51 am #622146we will be on the water tommorow. will post when we get home. looks to be like a good day
November 3, 2007 at 9:32 pm #622232Hi Jeff, Here’s the pic you wanted. I caught a dozen walleyes and eight of them were keepers. I did take home a limit this time. I also caught a bunch of white bass . I know what I told you I was using had something to do with this catch. This is the second time I have used this when it was windy and it’s worked. Talk to ya later, good fishing to all.
November 4, 2007 at 11:23 am #622295Nice fish Denny, I ended up with two which I CPR this day. Tough fishing for me the last three days. Will be out Sunday afternoon to hopefully improve my confidence.
November 4, 2007 at 9:05 pm #622342Was out on saturday with my dad and a friend. it started of slow with only a short and a bunch of missed bites. then my dad caught a 15 1/2 inh sauger. then a 18 1/2 inch walleye which was realeased.then he caught a couple of shorts.then i caught a 15 3/4 inch walleye and a big white bass. my dad caught a 16 1/2 inch walleye. and we finished the day with a big carp caught by my friend. pretty slow yesterday but a couple of guys said they caughht some legals right away in the morning down by the mouth.
November 5, 2007 at 9:48 am #622414Netmann14 it seems that you guys all ways get some legals so your doing something correct. Good job. I think I saw you guys where I saw you last time. I ask your dad if he caught anything but he wouldn’t anwser
Denny I tried the size jigs you told me about and got 3 legals in about a hour Sunday. What a difference.
Sunday fished for the first hour with no results then a angling friend called me and told me where he caught his fish in the morning but the stubborn angler I am I kept fishing where I was at. 30 mintues later another angler buddy came by in his boat to let me know where he caught his limit today. We’ll let me tell you don’t have to tell me twice but in this case they did the I was gone. With in one hour I had three legals and then it got to dark.
Just want to thank my two fishing buddy for the info, thank god for anglers that help other anglers. Sometimes it pays to talk.
November 5, 2007 at 4:06 pm #622528Sorry but my dad didn’t hear you. we weren’t catching much when we saw you. It was after you buzzed up to the mouth that we started to catch fish. We started at the vfw along with everybody else that was there. A couple of shorties and some bodieless minnow heads is all we could muster there. Then we tried casting shorelines, No luck there either. So we just stayed where you saw us and picked up a few fish now and then. Pretty slow day.
November 6, 2007 at 1:24 am #622695Remember I said to get out and fish when the getting is good. I finally can get out for a day of fishing this weekend and what happens. Cold snap, reports of the bite slowing down, and Jeff Patrick really working to catch fish. Even Greg not posting this weekend
Just kidding guys. Just looking forward to FINALLY getting out to drown some minnow probably for my last outing of the year given the work situation.

November 7, 2007 at 12:31 am #622957You know how the Rock is, Diesel…a love/hate relationship. Just gotta hope you’re there when the fish are active, and hope you’re in the right spots, and hope if you’re not, that a buddy will come to the rescue, etc.
Good to see you finally making it out. good luck.November 7, 2007 at 9:56 am #623001Quote:

November 8, 2007 at 5:47 pm #623301It’s only no wake through downtown Fort, marked with bouys. You can run a few miles from the lake to Fort at higher speeds.
November 8, 2007 at 11:44 pm #623416Spoke with a Fort public works fellow today at a seminar, and he said the buoys are coming out soon, which lifts the no-wake rule.
November 9, 2007 at 9:27 am #623473The buoys are gone but the no wake is still in effect downtown between the bridges. To be safe I would do the no wake rule where the wall starts to it ends. Peace
Fished Blackhawk last night for a couple hours with no results. Talked to a couple anglers and most all caught some shorts with a keeper. Water temp 44
November 10, 2007 at 1:04 am #623700Fished most of the day today, and it was slow. Spent most of my day up from by-pass, and boated a few shorts pretty quick, thinking it was going to be a good action day,, but they shut off fast. Lost a legal at the net mid morning, and nothing else till just after noon. Ended up catching a pair of 17 inchers in the afternoon, but kept at it pretty hard to get those. The legals and couple shorts came on plastic, as did a cat, and two nice white bass. Not too many boats out in afternoon.
November 10, 2007 at 5:35 pm #623764I think I saw a Diesel sighting today in Fort putzing around by the bridges in his boat. Hmmm I wonder where he was going. Probably going to start some trouble with the shore anglers
November 10, 2007 at 9:08 pm #623776I think I scared him up there when he heard I was moving up river. I could only manage one carp today and called it quits by 2 PM
November 10, 2007 at 10:40 pm #623788Yup lo and behold I made it out and just as I told you would happen the fish were not cooperating. Caught 7 shorts no legal. Fished from the mouth up to the Bark (to try some trick Jeff taught me. Marked lots of fish (opps there were leaves that were being thown in the river. Fished back down to the mouth and was off by 230.
Saw one legal caught by riverfront and heard of two others caught by the VFW. Nice to get out and burn some gas but wish I had some dinner.
Later guys.
May be it for me this year unless I find some time and courage to give it another try.

November 11, 2007 at 11:11 pm #623893Took a friend fishing for about three hours durning the packer game and caught five nice keepers and some shorts.
November 12, 2007 at 12:16 am #623943Good going, Jeff. Nice pics, but where’s the rest of the report….bait, depths, etc. ?? I knew I should have gone out there today, instead of taking a nap.

Sorry, I had to take a nap also when I got home Just wanted to get a picture up to get you guys going, which it worked
Water temps 44, bait of choice on this afternoon was 1/4, 3/8 & 1/2oz nuckle ball and Zone-R’s jigs by Fin-tech Tackle Co tipped with Lg fathead minnows. Fish were caught from 8 to 11 fow. Caught most fish on current breaks. The river tolds us where to fish. Hint-Leaves Where I fished? In the water some where between Jefferson Dam to Newville.
Tried plastic with no results.
November 12, 2007 at 12:26 pm #623988Yeah Jeff,
You can get us riled up pretty easy.
Your hints sound familiar

November 12, 2007 at 1:15 pm #623995Interesting that the temps went back up. They were 41 degrees in the couple areas I checked on Friday, up and down from by-pass. But let’s keep the warm days coming, so we can keep soft-water fishing. so you’re going with 1/2 oz. jigs?? A new lesson to learn here, or did the bottom of the Rock take a big toll on the rest of your arsenal?
November 12, 2007 at 4:19 pm #624035Jeff, those were nice fish that your partner caught, too bad you caught all the short ones and he couldn’t hold up all 5 of his for the photo I saw you out there on Sunday after the Packer game, I was out scouting shore spots since I’ll be limited to an hour here and there for awhile – we have a baby that’ll be here by Thursday. I haven’t tried that area for a couple of years and knew I should have been there on Saturday. It’s nice to see there’s still some to be caught though so keep the news coming while I’m out.
November 12, 2007 at 11:01 pm #623856Oh did I say we only caught five Sorry I must of counted wrong
