Sorry guys I was trying to delete one of my pictures and I deleted the old October Fishing Report thread.
So Lets start a new one.
Thats ok Jeff, I don,t think that there is lake around the state that is not producing good numbers of eyes right now. The eyes on Puckaway have been biting awesome since the first of september and of yesterday are still going strong. Take care and be safe out there, good to hear from you .
Great Fish !!!! I had to stay at home and play catch up on some things
Awesome fish Gregg. Good to see you and We Fish caught some fish. Put We Fish picture back up.
You should have been out today, WOW it was awesome, had a limit in three hours. I was throwing back keepers to keep fishing.
Fished from 1:00 to 3:30 this afternoon with awesome results. Fish the wood in seven fow with 1/4oz nuckle ball jigs with plastic from B-Fish-N Tackle Co. here’s some pictures from the great afternoon.
Awesome fish Jeff. I knew it would be good today. I was telling my wife all the while we were out trick or treating that the fish were probably jumping in the boat. I hope it’s the same way tomorrow, I should be out by 10 through late afternoon. Here’s Mr. WeFish again with a fish from yesterday.
We Fish that hat has to go . Next time at the fishing expo stop by the booth and get a nuckle ball hat on me.
Had the pleasure of guiding this father/son team last Wednesday morning for a few hours, on their annual two-day getaway. We started vertical jigging at the mouth rigged with paddletails and dragging a shiner on a dead stick, but on this day, the eyes wanted meat. Except for a few white bass and sheepies caught on plastic, all the eyes came on the shiners, which we eventually added to one of the jigging rods as well. Our catch included these two 17/18 inch fish which hit the dead stick. Showed these fellas a couple shore fishing spots with access to deeper water, as they were gong to finish off the day drowning shiners, and spending the night in town to golf the next day. Got home after noon, to ready the boat and gear for our evening drive to Red Wing…check out the Ole Miss thread for the 4-day report. Wow! what a fishery….
Here’s the biggest for me today, a 20″. Had another couple 18’s to go with it and at least a half dozen shorts. Fish liked green/chartreuse and fathead today. Lots of other bites. Fed them 3 dozen fatheads in less than 4 hours and went home.
I’ve been privately harrassed about sharing my fishing experience so I thought I’d share that along with my response… of course, this was sent to me on that other fishing report page I’ve had no problems on IDA!

Subject: you
> you love to see yourself on the web. You love to get PM’s. Pretty soon you will have to wake up to the fact that you are attracting people who will poach this river.
I have watched it happen. Plenty of twenty-eights hitting the bottom of coolers. Enough to make you sick. Those days are gone and most of us have learned our lesson. Why not you?
You do well but only know half the story.
Don’t reply to this. Don’t get upset by this either. There are many who have spent years attaining what you know. It isn’t for everyone, try to keep it that way. Alot of us are.
Peace and good fishing

Every major publication about fishing in WI has the system ranked in the top 5 for walleyes, I don’t think I’m giving anything up that’s a secret. I didn’t have a dad or friend to show me how to fish so if it wasn’t for stangers helping me out I wouldn’t be catching any fish either and enjoying the sport. I rarely receive a PM and give few exact details except to those I’ve meet through this wonderful forum and have become good friends with. I guess you should run for Gov so you can rename the system R***** lake and impose your own regulations. I’m still seeing plenty of 28″+ fish caught. I’d rather have the friends I met than the fish anyway. I’d be content if they were all panfish or white bass. Species doesn’t matter to me, it’s the time with friends on the water. Peace.
