Went fishing for walleyes last night with Greg (a.k.a Databoy) and forgot to tell him were fishing for walleyes. Greg caught this awesome buffalo in about 15 fow with 8 pound test line with a pink/white 1/4oz nuckle ball jig tip with half of crawler. This fish top the scale at 26lbs.

Dang Databoy,
I thought hanging out the world famous Jeff Patrick in his new rig was the bomb. I was looking forward to a great year of reports from you and JP then you fire up a buffalo.
I guess I can’t talk too much or at all since I only have one walleye in on the rock this year and only been out 4 times thanks to work.
At least I have Z-man beat
Thanks for the report and glad to see something happening on the rock. It has been a slow year for reports and other lakes in my area other than Delavan have been pretty quiet as well.

June 16, 2007 at 5:36 am #581117Caught one just about the same size yesterday below L & D No. 9 on the ‘Sippi. My forearm is still sore! It’s amazing the power those fish have – especially when they see the surface.
June 16, 2007 at 9:45 am #581126Databoy did start wining after about ten minutes about his sore arms to . All he kept saying is “if it takes one more run”
Eric that dang databoy caught all the fish again in my boat. I don’t know how long I will be able to put up with that.
Databoy also told me he was going out fishing to try some of the cool water spots for pike last night. Hope to hear a report from him on how he did Friday night just before dark.
June 16, 2007 at 4:04 pm #581165Here’s the report, bad weekend for all of you that didn’t get out this morning and last evening but great for me. Unfortunately I got a late start yesterday but I found walleyes. Started out the first half hour casting for northern as Jeff said but didn’t find any. Spent another half an hour at the stink pipe and just got a few little nibbles and a sheep then headed to the lake. Unfortunately I just had an hour but ended up with a couple shorts and a 22.5″ walleye. Went back to the same spot this morning and had a nice fish on my first dropped jig at 5:45 AM. About 3-4 minutes later I got a 4 lb. catfish. Another 3-4 minutes and had a 18″ walleye. Ended up with 8 walleyes total ranging from 6 to 24.5″, a 8 lb. buffalo, and a white bass. Biggest fish was caught on a red/black 1/4 oz. knuckleball jig with half a crawler. Most fish caught on a 1/4 oz. pink jig but got bites on most colors. Great day for just 3 hours of fishing, but had to go home to clean a couple small eaters since I don’t have a live well and was running short on ice and bait. So I’m taking a break from the heat but will be back at it after 5 this afternoon and again early tomorrow morning.
Sorry you weren’t out there with me, maybe next time?
June 17, 2007 at 8:39 pm #581342The bite continued last night and early this morning. Fished a few hours before dark and caught a few walleyes between 15 & 18″ and a 28″ northern. Got out for a few hours at sunrise this morning and caught 6 more walleyes between 15 & 22″ which are all still swimming so JP and I can catch them again Thursday PM in the Anchor Inn Tourney. All fish were caught from the VFW down to the lake. Most fish last night were closer to the VFW, this morning most were near the lake. This was easily my best few days of fishing on the Rock. 4 walleyes over 20″ and around 15 walleyes all together along with a pike a couple cats a few sheep and a monster buffalo. Also saw a couple guys from shore with a full stringer of eyes. 2 of their fish were over 20″ including one that was 29″ he was saving for the wall in his family’s tavern.
June 17, 2007 at 10:36 pm #581363Go figure, I take the boat in for a few touch ups this weekend and the fish start biting
Thanks for the report this weekend Greg.
