Jeff and I tried our luck in the tourney again last night. Due to the weather there were only 4 or 5 boats entered so I took my turn at a victory. A single 16.5″ fish is all it took as I was the only one with a legal fish. Green/glow was the hot color with a half a crawler fishing on the Newville side, lots of time under the bridge to dodge the rain. Thanks again Jeff, another great time on the water.

Kidding aside, this is a team effort and we have fun. Well I didn’t have fun when I lost a 18 incher when Databoy was fighting a big buffalo carp.

Ha, that’s funny though I’d have been better off from shore than what I did today. I got my tub floating for the first time this year and fished the VFW to the mouth from 8-noon. I few hit and misses by the VFW was all for me. My in-law landed a shorty and a sheep and that was it for the day. Quit when we saw the rain coming across the lake. Only a handful of boats out and no body was catching much of anything but the occassional sheephead. Extremely light boat traffic for a holiday weekend. Even the cat and the white bass people were striking out. Far different than yesterday. Was down at the Robert Street park with my son and the people were hauling in white bass one after another from shore. I’ll probably give it another try tomorrow.
