Snuck away for a few hours this morning, and fished Newville from 8 am till noon. started out with a bang, and boated a 16 incher on first drift betwen bridges, and had two more missed fish. Went back for another thinking we found the school of hungry eyes, but no dice. Not another hit all morning, except for one goat. Tried it all, but no takers.
Heading to Sturgeon Bay tomorrow night for three days on the big water, so won’t be back to the Rock for a while. Left a bunch of fish in there for you guys. good luck.

Tried my shore spot for an hour before dark. Just as it starting to sprinkle a bit I caught a 14″+ walleye on a 1/4 oz. orange/chartruse Lindy jig and a 3″ Gulp minnow, smelt color. Had a couple other hits. Maybe a little pond bass fishing tomorrow so I can check if I can get my dad’s boat out of storage. Last time I checked it was buried 4 boats back my aunt’s shed.

Got out yesterday afternoon. Launched a blackhawk and slipped to the mouth with no hits. One boat picked up a white bass. Trolled the mouth for a little bit through some pods of bait fish with no hits. When back to drifting and my buddy got a couple of hits casting a white jig with minnow. Started casting and he picked up a 28 inch northern. Trolled the junkpile area and picked up a 16 inch walleye on a charturse and black taildancer at 5 feet in 6.5 feet.

Lake pretty rough but calmed down enough for a run to the rock pile. Four boats tolling with nothing caught. Heading in after constant rain.

River temp 61.5. Lake temp 60.

Got the skunk out of the boat.

And yes this happened yesterday. Not a past report

Great looking boat…..all white and brand spanking new. You’re gonna be pretty easy to spot on the river, and can expect to have lots of company. Whadya say we spray paint it it camo??

Ah, a fish killer! Looks like it was worth the wait. Congrats and enjoy. You’re probably not going to want to get any of that fish slim in your boat though. I can see you now hanging over the side and trying to get the hooks out while they’re still in the net I’m heading up north to fish this weekend in time for the cold front on Saturday, hear the black flies are biting up there too

JP’s new rig didn’t disappoint. I took up his offer to fish in Saturday’s Anchor Inn Walleye Tourney and the boat stood up to the challenge. Very quick and smooth ride across the rough water. Here’s Jeff with his 7.1 lb. lunker, unfortunately it wasn’t quite the biggest fish of the day getting beat by 7.4 pounder. As a team we finished 3rd with 15.22 lbs. First and second place had just over 17 pounds. It was a great time for all that participated. The Anchor did a wonderful job hosting the event with lots of nice raffle prizes. Thanks Jeff, can’t wait to try it again!

To bad I lost that big walleye. That would of put us about 25lbs and big fish for sure.

Will be doing a report tonight also.
