it was depere where we got those.
the limit is only one fish over 28 inches and if you could keep and eat them, i wouldn’t, nor recommend it. actually i don’t think we caught a walleye under 20 inches anyways. this has got to be the best walleye fishery in the midwest, if size and action is what your looking for.
all these pigs were caught on cranks in 4 to 6 feet of water. it was a blast.April 4, 2007 at 10:24 pm #557149Hi Mike,
Thanks for the report and awesome pictures. Looks like you guys had a blast.
April 6, 2007 at 12:19 am #557696i figured you would have planned to have the boat in time for spring. did you have a hard time selling your old one?
April 6, 2007 at 10:44 am #557799nope, sold mine without advertising to a good friend.
If I would have bought a boat from the show floor I would have had it by now. You know me I had to order something special so it took a bit longer. I guess I could have timed it better BUT I know how the spring fishing is. I, myself have went home plenty of times emty handed. The best fishing still to come. And it will be warmApril 6, 2007 at 9:25 pm #558154ya your probably right, with the high water you know where i will be fishing in a few weeks.
April 7, 2007 at 2:01 am #558236still a lund. i went to the 18 pro angler tiller with a 90 yamaha and t8 kicker. i don’t move as fast as my other boat but i have a ton of room. every goodie you can think of on it. i will post a pic later. also went to a diesel truck, great gas mileage for a huge truck and more towing power than i’ll ever need. i had to get my new toys before the baby comes in october!!
April 8, 2007 at 1:51 pm #558491Gave it a try sat night ,current way to fast and water too high to jig fish my usual spots if fort,so i pulled out the 12 ft crappie rods and cane-poled some slack areas, couple light bites, but still didnt get skunked,as i manged to land a lunker crawfish, didnt get a pic,but crawfish was realeasd to fight another day.
April 10, 2007 at 11:43 pm #559301lol,they are good, ive had em,but you need a pile of them.and since this was trophy class,i let em go
April 13, 2007 at 3:42 pm #560391Kinda late on the report, BUT……fished last week on shore right where the Bark comes in. Had lots of bites and caught one 14″ male. He’ll be ready for the frying pan next year. For what it’s worth, fish was caught on a white floating jig tipped with a large fathead. He slammed it. Water was pretty high. April 21, 2007 at 1:21 am #563111Was at the park by Robert Street playing with my 4 year old son and saw several walleyes caught from shore between 11 and noon. Tried it myself down river a ways with a buddy and we caught 8 between 6&8 PM, 6 were keepers. Current slowed enough that vertical jigging is now possible. My fish came on a 1/4 oz. (able to downsize with less current)orange & chartreuse Lindy Max Gap jig with a 4″ chartreuse Lindy Munchie thumper grub. All were milking male walleyes.
April 21, 2007 at 6:01 pm #563193Fished today from 630 to 11 AM. Not many out at the time but many when I pulled out. O fo 1 this year on the rock. Blackhawk launch is usable but bring wading boot as the water is past the ramp. Tried minnows and crawlers deep and in the wood and got zip. Saw no fish caught. Dragged lines around kosh and watched the bounty hunters circle the rock pile. Still saw no fish caught. Talked to a few boat that said they had a couple little ones but no legals.
I am sure someone found fish but not me. Threw every thing I had at them but as usual I was told they were biting yesterday.
Water temp in the river 55 and at the mouth. 53 to 54 in the lake. Lots of pelicans around which is always cool this time of year.
