I thought I would give it another try early this morning, it was 7 degrees, noticed west of Fort from Patten’s to downtown was skimmed over pretty good my honey hole was kept open for a little while untill the ice flow started. It also looked like some brave sole even launched a boat Sat.
Try’d fishing after work,it was quite brisk out,the water was open where I was fishing, everytime I cast and reeled in I snaged a good size carp.You’d think there would be an Eye in there too.

Fished 6:00AM Till 9:00AM, Nothin, zip-o, 
nice morning to be out. Lots of big and little boats launching this morning. Obviously there’s no safe ice around here. 
Another great morning Temp 36 degrees, no wind water very high compared to last Dec and moving right along. Started fishing around 06:45 first couple casts and Bam! one 15″ eye I thought its about time I let it go to grow and did not have another bite. maybe I’ll try Sunday if not You all Have a Happy and Safe New Year
