sorry…not ignoring you Jeff…been camping with my son, up at Peninsula state park, and just got back this evening. And no, didn’t fish up there….just hiked, biked, and spent some quality time with my 10 year old. Anyway, now for the big pond details. Hadn’t been out for some time, and with the week of easterlies we had before the weekend, didn’t have any buddies that had been out either. so had to rely on some fish-cleaning station hear-say, and the word was mixed…either in close at the North gap, or out in 200, fishing 100 down. Sheesh…what a choice, so we tried both. the one in the pic came after about 2 minutes in the gap, but after dodging sail boats while making a few passes in and out the gap, we decided to go out deep, and hence the sore butt. but after washing spoons for a couple hours, we hit the gap in hopes of a last hurrah, and had one hit’n’run, and that’s it. Heard from two buddies that the gap produced some fish the next morning, all 4 year olds, so the big ones are in. Now just gotta find a chance to get back out for a time or two, but have a bad itch to start chasing eyes.
