Well I got to Erie, IL saturday to pick up my friend and we were trying to decide wether to go to the Miss. or to the Rock. We decided on the rock as we didn’t think the rain would affect the cats as much.

So we headed out on the Rock for the first time this year. Of course it was Saturday after noon so it was raining, but the wind was not blowing so it wasn’t to bad.

Tried one spot not far from the dock and ad a few real small channels bite, so after a little while we decided to look for bigger fish.

Well, I fired up the outboard only to notice the water pump wasn’t working. GREAT, good thing we didn’t go to the Miss. So we went back to the dock loaded up the boat, Luckily my freind I was with lives in Erie so we ran into town dropped off my boat and picked up his.

At least by this time the rain was letting up and eventually quit.

We hit a few more spots caught 8-9 more fish each of us caught a fish that ran around 3lbs. and few 1 pounders.

We were catching most in slower water 5-6 feet deep on Crawlers. Seems like we would catch a couple cats when we would get to a new spot, then we would catch SheepHead. So we would move to a new spot and repeat.

Not a bad day, only a couple boats out and they were checking lines, so it was a nice quiet day on the river.

    Cool,

A buddy of mine has been doing well on the Rock River in Fort Atkinson for cats. Biggest was 10 pounds so far. Since I haven’t fished for cats for a while he is fishing some of my favorite spots.

He was using Sonny’s dip bait. Works great but the stink is tough to get rid off (as my wife tells me)

    Must be my cologne.
