Holy crap is all I can say! There were 62 boats in a one mile stretch on the Rock today at Blackhawk! Looked like an on water boat show. Everytime Id sneak off to where no one was…all of a sudden Id have neighbors. I got my fill of that for the year, Ill stay on other end of lake for a while. Too bad because the eyes are biting well, lots of shorts though. 1/4 oz gold jig and minnow was the ticket for me today.

That is crazy. That comes to almost a boat every 85 feet. You sure they weren’t partying or tubing the river?

We could reduce the boats by lobbying for a law that you can’t launch unless there’s at least 3 people in the boat Or maybe capacity limits like they do in the bars Mid week congestion is discouraging for getting out this weekend. I guess I should pray for scattered showers to help reduce the crowd. Derek, if you’d like to leave your boat home and join me Saturday afternoon I’d be willing to give it a try. I wanted to take my wife and 3 yr. old but I don’t think they could handle the stress of the crowd, especially at the launch. If I let her shop in the morning I could watch a few fishing shows with my coffee and be ready to go by lunch time. Sunday afternoon I may need to let my dad use his boat or at least take him with me. See you and the zillion others on the water, I’ll be the one in the boat

Thanks for the offer but plan to have the boat out – need to get out of the house and wet a line. Hopefully I can find 5 feet of water to myself. Will be the Blue and white mirrocraft with the yammy.

Should be interested. Gotta make sure I got the camera for the circus. Never know what is gonna happen.

The number boats does not bother me at all , I guess through out the years I have learned pataince or just gotten used to it . My favorite thing to do is use a lighter jig and let it drag and stay up river a bit so it under the other boats and when you get a hit pull that eye right to the surface beside the other guys boat , you would be amazed at the looks they will give you when you do this… some days in shallow water this works the best for us. Well good luck to all and be safe…
