Hi Jeff, How did you do over on the Mississippi River Saturday? I was over there too, had a tough choice to make, Bounty Hunt or Miss. River…
Jim it was one of my best times ever. You missed a great time. I didn’t catch many fish but that’s what I was there for. I was there to meet guys on IDA. I got a new ride to get there so it made it a lot better getting there.
ford? now i’m gonna have to pick you up with my gmc when your stuck!! just kidding, nice ride!! i did a job in edgerton last saturday and noticed the river was wide open by the 59 bridge, launch looked good too. do you think anything would be biting in that area now?
jeff, don’t forget your gonna have to take me out this year on the river. i just bought a new house so it looks like i’m gonna wait until next year for a new rig.
Good to hear from you Mike. I would say yes there is fish to be caught by the 59 bridge. It’s warmer water so it will bring in bait fish and walleyes will be right behind. I’m getting the boat ready this weekend. Yes you will fish with me this year more than once, you can bank on it.
with the weather being so nice i thought about bringing the duck rig out, but its suppose to get cold again next week. i’m gonna try my luck down by the big lake for some browns instead. hope fully will have some pictures, its been a while.
I’ll be there saturday morning also. Maybe I’ll see you out there. Me and Ted Peck are trolling for big browns on the big pond Saturday Morning. Should be fish by 7:00am. Good night
Nice truck, don’t ya just love the new smell…
I hope I can make the GTG one of these years, I love a party!!
So Jeff…am I correct to understand that the river and the launch are open at the 59 bridge?? Havent sold my rig yet, so gonna get it ready to fish, too. Its nice and shiny and clean, but hey, trashing it while fishing is all the fun.
Capt. Jim, yes that new truck smell is great, just wish I new how to keep that smell. Yes you have to make the next GTG, it’s a blast and you get lots of good fishing info.

Z-Man and Jeff,
Thanks for the info. I was just gonna ask Jeff how is the river looking. I may try to get out and cast from shore.
Good luck if you get out guys.

So Diesel…the wife gonna let you out with that baby coming soon?? Better get while the gettin’s good, I guess. I’ll be taking a short cut on my way to Illinois tomorrow to take a look at the open water at the bridge…need a breath of fresh air to get the spirits up after 9 weeks of no fishing. Talk about withdrawal symptoms….if I wasnt working, I’d have the boat with me. Oh well.
Yeah I am still negotiating. There is a room full of ladies planned for Sat at the homestead and there is no way I am hanging around for the baby shower. Not a drop of testosterone to be found. So I either heading to the ice or casting in open water.

Took a look at the launch on Wednesday, on work trip to Illinois. Was there (Anchor Inn launch)bout 10 am, and they already had the launch and parking lot plowed after the light snowfall night before. Water was wide open, and looking good. Thinking about pulling the boat out tomorrow, but still have my Minnkota apart for minor repair, but part not in yet. Hmmmm, gotta give it some thought today. Will post if decide to go, and Diesel, you’re welcome to join me if I make it out.
