Yeah it was cold but nice. Got so see some turkey fly across the river and a 6-8 pointer try to figure out if it wanted to go swimming. Nice thick buck.

Gotta get out when I can.

Out there on a solo trip this morning. Launched at 6:15 am, and first fish was a nice 18 incher and came at 7, with two more (18 and 20 inchers) by 8, but then they shut down. Boated a 4th at 11, just before it was time to go home. Plastic was the ticket again. No pics but having a family fish fry tomorrow, so may snap shots of potatoe pancakes, cole slaw, and of course, the main fare.
Won’t be out for a while, so go get them, fellas.

Had a bonus outing on the Rock this morning. My son’s home with his family on pre-deployment leave, and after the Wednesday fish fry, asked if we could go out and chase ole marbleyes. so since he twisted my arm, out we went. Launched at 6:15 am in the dark and cold, something we hadn’t done since he was in high school, and had a great time, although the eyes didn’t cooperate as much as we hoped. Boated a 21 incher early, and then that was it for legals. Got a few dinks and some white bass, but a memorable day nevertheless. water temps down to 45 in most areas by Blackhawk, down a dgree or two from Tuesday.
