got out today on cascade lakes along with wade and his dad,for a few hours.. found a spot with some sunking trees in around 16 fow. in the early going the fish seemed to be more looker’s than takers. managed to intice these few in the picture.

shortly after wade pulled the plug, the bite turned on. i started to jig more aggressive and that seemed to work.. almost like pulling the jig away from them. tiny jig with waxie was the bait. ended the night taking home 9 sunnies and one crappie with a few of the sunnies pushing the 9 inch mark. still a solid 12 inches of ice!!!

thanks for tagging along wade & dad!!!

Nice looking fish Lou. Boy, that orange camo doesn’t conceal much against that white snow…lol Should be about able to shed that in the next couple days.

Can someone help me out and tell me where I can park at Cascade Lake? I’ve been wanting to check it out but have no idea where I can park and walk from. Thanks!

    Keef….

Take 2nd street SW out to the Manor. At the light, take a right. Take the very first right off the county road and stay to your right a short distance then veer left to the end of that street. You’ll be on Lachencrest Lane. Park next to the bike path and head to the lakes from there….you’ll be traveling east and will need to cross a foot bridge….another couple hundred yards and you will see a lake on your left and another on the right. The lake on the right has better fish.

Awesome, thanks! Hopefully the people in the neighborhood don’t mind random cars parked on their street. I think I’m going to check it out tonight and see if I can bring anything to shore.

You want to park on the straight stretch of street vfacing west along side of the sidewalk/bikepath, which means you’ll enter the small cul-du-sac and come out again as if you were going to leave. There are no houses where you’ll park. If memory serves me right there is a dead-end barricade there, park in front of it if it still is there.
