hit a few bodies of water in rochester this weekend ( willow creek and cascade lakes. heres what i found…. willow creek.. ive hit that lake about once a week for the past month and a half with great results on some nice sunnies.. fishing the west side of the lake in 12 to 14 foot of water useing tiny jigs tipped with waxies. spring bobbers were a must, and i had to do a lot of sorting but mannaged to ice some quality fish up to 9 1/2 inches. with a few nice crappies mixed in..
fished cascade lakes both sat and sunday and pretty much had my way with the crappies.. both on waxies and minnows.. crappies really no size to them but lots of action. remember the regs on the rochester waters 10 fish limit with 5 crappies only

sorry for the crapy photo.. grandpa took photo with his dinosaur digital lol!!! i have to invest in a new one.. mine went to sh#t!!!!!

Louis—thanks for posting. It has been over three years since I last tried Cascade. Getting out there was an adventure and I didn’t see any fish at all. How do you get to the ice these days? One time I entered via the Mayo parking lot on the south side and another time on the west side….parked on the street and followed a path.

usually i will park on that little shoulder just outside the (westlot) mayo parking lot and walk the path.. also you can come in from the west side of the lake via ..interlachen lane.. that little town house community.
