Been a few years since I’ve fished here…is it worhtwhile to give it a try? Not looking to keeep anything, just a closer place to get a line wet and learn a little more about my flaher. Is there any springs or anything out of the ordinary to look out for?

You should be able to find sunfish in abundance there, but the crappies have been a tough nut to crack for most people. An occasional bass or catfish might reward you too.

As a rule you don’t have to wander too far down the chute towards the wide spot near the dam, which is quite a walk. The chatter about CW has been pretty quiet this year so reports aren’t available.

As for spring activity, I think you’re good to go without too much worry right now.

the word is that there is an algea blume around sunset that sends the crappies whorling. However, it doesn’t happen every day. Also, If i was going to fish chester woods i would set one tip up with an 8 inch sucker minow because there ARE NORTHERNS in Chester Woods. I didn’t believe it either until I caught a 36 incher. I suppose one of the neighbors dropped some in. The fish i caugth was propably 10 years old.
