Anyone know if the bass season on Chester opens the same time as the state bass opener or do they have special regs of there own? Not that I am going to keep any bass just wanted to know when the season opens there.

    Hi Steve

I don’t recall ever seeing anything posted at the launch. Page 37 of the fishing regs lists the experimental regulations for Chester Woods and nothing is listed regarding special bass regs. If nothing else you can email them here.

Based on what I can see it looks like May 29th according to the regulations. The 2010 regs are posted on the DNR’s website here

I searched the whole PDF file and found nothing stating certain dates other than the May 29th opening so you should be good to go on this date.

Just a reminder also, when looking in the DNR Regs for anything Chesterwoods related you need to look under Bear Creek Res. as I believe that is the official name for the body of water. Chesterwoods, I believe is just the name of the park.

I think the only “special” reg. is that of the new Olmsted county regs where you can only keep 1(if you plan on keeping any) but other than that regular bass opener, but remember, it is illegal to target the species out of season.

Sounds like you are in the same boat as the rest of us Steve meaning we ALL have fishin pox real bad and need a fishin fix. Its the same as the state regs as far as I know of.
    Thanks, Bill
