There is no such thing as an ice fishing season, except pertaining to when you can have permanent ice shacks on the ice. The seasons are covered by the MN DNR’s rules for a body of water. Most inland waters have year-round panfishing with closed seasons on walleyes, northern, bass, musky. On the other hand, some of the Mississippi River pools are open to almost all species year-round.
