The Zum in the morning…

The morning fishing at Lake Zumbro has been something short of unreal this week. Numbers of fish are really impressive for this boat with the century mark a very easy target in a couple of hours.

Yesterday was awesome for me, and today I had Matt Dufec with me and we found fish tightly stacked in two areas that kept us busy on every cast for over 45 minutes in each location.

We could have taken one plastic, one color of jighead and size along with one float to fish on a rod and that would have been it. No tackle changing at all. The Culprit Paddletail in junebug/chartreuse tail on a 1/32 ounce electric-grapejuice colored head fished under a #2 Thill Mini-Stealth float at 2 feet on 4 pound line.

This combination got all of our crappies, all of our sunfish, all of the bass that decided to hit and one ugly 35 inch muskie. The plastic really got a chewing today.

The only down-side was the wind.
