    just wondering about ice conditions down by the dam. i am looking to cross the lake to get down below the dam and am wondering how good or not good the ice is by the dam. ike

    Theyhave been driving out of the Pondy lately so there is definitely ice. Even though we are cooler today, with the recent spell of warm we have seen an increase in current under the ice and that usually means a bit more water, which could result in the ice lifting away from shore. No-one has mentioned that happening yet, so one could assume you’ll have walking ice as long as you keep back from the dam a ways.

    I think it should be OK. The level has not changed much even though the flow has increased, and that should be back down within a couple days.
