Went out to Lake Zumbro this morning. It was about as cold as any time I’ve been out in a few years, wind chill around -25 degrees with the actual air temp around 2 degrees.
The bite was slow and difficult due to the cold front, but I was able to put together a pattern on the crappies. Diamond jigs tipped with spikes was what I found to produce. The fish were anywhere from 2-6 ft. from the bottom in 23 FOW.
