The Friends of Chester Woods are having a Fall Potluck and Clean-Up Event!
When: Saturday, September 13, 2003
Where: Chester Woods Park
Who: General public and Friends of Chester Woods
What and What Time: Many activities to take part – afternoon to evening
12:00pm-4:30pm: A little park clean up. Primary emphasis will be lakeshore cleanup – from land or water. Hike Chester Lake Trail for some clean up on land or bring your canoe or kayak or whatever else you have that floats and then cruise the lake shorelines for trash.
4:30pm-6:00pm: Join Joel Dunnette for an interpretive hike through some of the natural areas of Chester Woods Park. With Joel it is a good bet that you will see some of the latest native plants to set bloom in the prairies, which is still a good show in September.
6:00pm: Potluck dinner at the park. Bring a favorite dish to pass, along with your own beverage and picnic ware. Enjoy the meal with friends of the park.
Work off the meal with a relaxing game of horseshoes, some sand volleyball, hiking, fishing, or a few laps at the Chester Woods Beach.
9:30pm: Join a group of Moonlight Paddlers for a trip on the lake under a Chester Woods Full Moon. Bring your own watercraft for the event.
Come for all or part of the day!
