I was out on the lake tonight checking out the water conditions and found alot of wood and debris floating around and the south end of the lake was very muddy. Across from Fishermans Inn I saw some very big thick trees in the water so be sure and watch out for wood as that will probably be floating down stream. The 2.75 inches of rain we had a couple of nights ago is what caused the problem. Hopefully the water will be cleared up by the weekend. Even though the water is high there were no signs on the water saying anything about a no wake. And as of right now, I haven’t received any e-mails yet telling me that there is one but the water is currently 1.4 feet above crest.

    Thanks, Bill

When the water is this high how does that make the fishing specifically the pan fishing. is it quite tough? ike

I was out this morning. Water is quite high, but some of the debris has moved into the shorelines and there is not so much stuff although you still need to be careful.
The fishing pattern for panfish has changed. The active fish have moved into the shorelines and are shallow. Fishing with a minimite jig tipped with a waxie, set a couple feet under a float worked very well. This method produced no crappies, but lots of decent bluegills and several bass.

There normally would be a no wake in place but for some reason they haven’t issued one according to their website for wake/no wake goes. It went from 1.4 ft over crest yesterday down to 1.1 ft over crest right now. There were no signs out at all Wednesday night.
Wonder if they plan to drop it quickly?
    Thanks, Bill

I was wondering if anyone was fishing this weekend. And if you did was there any shooting going on out there??? Interested to hear if there was anyone hunting ducks on the lake or up the river past sandy point.
