Fishing @ Gull Lake, Brainerd

Went up north to Gull Lake after Labor Day. Found a nice bunch of gills and crappies for the frying pan…….hoping to find some like this in the Zumbro!

Those are nice fish, Gull will grow them a lot bigger though. My kids and I were there this summer and were still catching 13+ inch crappies, we released all of them. Not many chasing them in the summer or fall but come spring and winter guys are all over them that is when they can find them.
Looks like a great trip.

Yeah, it was a great time…..we probably caught another 150+ fish just like these. It was a blast. Just kept enough for a couple meals.

It was good fishing, golfing and card playing. Came out on the short end of the poker playing though. Ate some fresh fish there, and brought enough home for a meal. You just couldn’t beat it.
