The bite on pool 4 of the Mississippi River seems to be hit and miss for alot of people I’ve talked to. My youngest son Nate, his daughter Makenzie, my grandson Mitchell Severson, and myself headed for Pepin to see what we could find. We had a good day of walleyes and small cats and of course it wouldn’t be a day on the water with a few big sheephead. The eyes weren’t real big but were alot of fun to catch. Mitchell, catching more than his share for a guy whose only seven years old, and who caught the biggest one, decided to take a break and call it snack time.

This was my first day back on the water [Sunday Labor Day weekend] so I guess I was too excited to remember to get some fish pics but I did finally remember that I had my camera along and had promised some kids I would post their pics.

Here is one I just have to share. lol. This pic is of my little sweet grandaughter, Nate and Jessies daughter, who was on her knees up front of my boat watching for fish on the locator and fell asleep in this postion. She is acturally asleep in this pic.

Jigging and dragging jigs for eyes with live bait was the ticket.

Labor day weekend was a great sunny rain free weekend to be on the water. I hope you were able to get out. Please feel free to share your fishing pics from the weekend.
    Thanks, Bill
