On Fathers Day Makenzie and Jessie took Nate and I out on Lake Zumbro for some fishing and swimming. Us big kids know that teaching our kids and grandkids about fishing will help ensure they will share in the great love for fishing that we enjoy. In the first pic is Makenzie Cadwell and her Daddy Nate.
Nate and I have been doing some fishing together on the lake which brings back alot of great memories that we started to made and shared on Lake Zumbro back when he was around Makenzies age on up. Lake Zumbro is a lake outside of Rochester to the north a few miles which makes it very close for some week night fishing fun and also on weekends. And with the high gas prices both Nate and I have decided to spend time fishing the lake together for some good father/son bonding time.
We also have been sharing our fishing times with Makenzie and Jessie. Fishing is a family sport where everyone can join in and once they are hooked on fishing they will be able to enjoy a lifetime of fun catching fish and just plain enjoying being on the water.
They lake offers some very good crappie fishing along with bluegills and bass and many other spieces too. The purpose of this particular report is not to share techniques on catching Lake Zumbro fish but to encourage anglers to take there kids, grandkids, wifes and girlfriends out fishing. Sharing your love for fishing with others so that they have a chance to experience the fun and that special feeling inside we have when we are on the water fishing for a lifetime too. And don’t forget to throw in alittle time for the kids to be able to enjoy swimming and playing in the water. Its makes for a very well rounded day of fun that will cause them to want to come again.
Thanks, Bill
