    Kids and fishing = FUN. Memorial Day I spent fishing with my seven year old grandson on Lake Zumbro. Mitchell wanted numbers of fish so we started out fishing shallow and bluegills were the species targeted.

    The technique he used was a light action rod with a mini-mite, float, and sometimes a waxie.

    We were fishing the shoreline bite pretty much of the time for more action but the fish were smaller there. But for a child alot of the time the faster action is what they prefer.

    It just wouldn’t be a Bass Opener weekend without some bass caught. This bass may be small buts it was his first bass for the year so a pic just had to be taken.

    Kids and fishing does equal FUN.

    There is NOTHING in this world better than sitting back and watching the children catch fish….the look on their faces, the gleam in their eyes, and the excitement in their voices….nothing can top that!

    I can imagine that grandchildren multiplies that feeling
