We had 6 people tonight. Too bad more didn’t come out. The rain was done by 4:40 and the lake was in good shape. Lots of fish were caught with the bigger crappies finally making themselves known.

    1st – tie – Andy Anderson and Mike Smith – 5 lb. 0 oz. – $13.50 each – 4 points each
    3rd – Mike Schmitt – 4 lb. 2 oz. – $3.00 – 1 point
    Everyone else gets 1 point.

    Point standings after 7 events:
    Rick Cordie – 16 points
    Mike Smith – 13 points
    Andy Anderson – 12 points
    Bill Harwick – 11 points
    Mike Schmitt – 9 points
    Ron Weltzin – 7 points
    Al Smizek – 6 points
    Bill Cadwell – 6 points
    Andy Willhorn – 5 points
    Tyler Holm – 3 points
    Chris Stokich – 3 points
    Brad Gravenhof – 2 points
    Dan Thiem – 2 points
    Alex Thorn – 2 points
    Nick Enger – 2 points
    Mike Sass – 2 points
    John Weiss – 1 point
    Justin Heiden – 1 point
    Randy Dahlman – 1 point

There were a few very nice crappies caught tonight and some nice gills. Should continue to get better. Hope to see you next week!

Sounds like the bite is getting better. Didn’t make it tonight but will have to be sure I’m there next week. These events are FUN guys. Its basicly a bunch of guys getting together and fishin and telling stories during and after the weighins. You guys who haven’t been there in awhile-you are missed. You new guys who haven’t fished one are missed too. Sign up and join in the fun. Its a great way to learn more about fishing the lake as we all stand around and talk fishing afterwards. I hate missing these so I try to get to them every chance I get. Hope to see you there. Very nice way to make new friends and see old friends.

    Thanks, Bill

The weather was remarkably nice last night. HOF must really have some connections, I came to the event dressed for an event at Cape Fear, but like HOF said “It will clear and be nice for fishing”. We found the bull sunfish in a small bay using a bright jig (1/32 oz. chartreuse) tipped with any live bait (waxie, worm, nightcrawler)16-24” under a small bobber. They couldn’t wait for our bait to get to them. Lots of fun, great circular fight. Thanks again HOF for putting together the event.
