We had 8 people tonight. Lots of fish were caught with the crappies proving difficult to come by, but the bullgills were there!

    1st – Rick Cordie – 4 lb. 6 oz. – $24.00 – 5 points

    2nd – Mike Smith – 4 lb. 2 oz. – $12.00 – 3 points

    3rd – Al Smizek – 3 lb. 5 oz. – $4.00 – 1 point

    Everyone else gets 1 point.

    Point standings after 6 events:

    Rick Cordie – 15 points

    Bill Harwick – 10 points

    Mike Smith – 9 points

    Andy Anderson – 8 points

    Mike Schmitt – 8 points

    Ron Weltzin – 7 points

    Bill Cadwell – 6 points

    Andy Willhorn – 5 points

    Al Smizek – 5 points

    Tyler Holm – 3 points

    Chris Stokich – 3 points

    Brad Gravenhof – 2 points

    Dan Thiem – 2 points

    Alex Thorn – 2 points

    Nick Enger – 2 points

    Justin Heiden – 1 point

    Randy Dahlman – 1 point

    Mike McNeilus – 1 point

    Evan McNeilus – 1 point

    Dustin Lastin – 1 point

The crappies have been tough to get so far this year. The bullgills are pretty impressive with lots over 9 inches. Should continue to get better. Hope to see you next week!

Thanks for a very fun night at the HOF Leaque Event Mike. Every outting I try to learn something new. Now last night was a night where if something could go wrong it did. Darn trolling motor started shorting out on me again [bad connection or something] so I had to push on the connection of two connectors to get it to move forward. Towards the end of the night it worked fine. Go figure. lol. Also I reversed plans and went after crappies first so I worked my milk run backwards and of course my night went backwards as no crappies till the end. Findly worked my way to where I should of been the whole night as it turned out and thats where I picked up my bigger gills and the two crappies I weighed [only caught two, not four]. The gills at that spot where big fat thick heavy buggers that made me eat my heart out as I had very little time left to fish that area. Maybe this is why they call it fishing and not catching. Spent too much time at spot #1 looking for crappies [lesson learned]. Also learned I better have a better look at that trolling motor or switch to the co-pilot to see if that makes any difference when it acts up. Also was reminded that fishing is a blast no matter how much or how little you catch as I had alot of fun. Its ALWAYS great to be on the water. Note to self-spend more time on the water and when I think I have spent enough nights out there spend some more.
    Thanks, Bill

Yes, we can all learn from the weekly tournaments. I have been surprised for the past couple weeks at how difficult it has been to get large crappies. The morning bite out there seems to be much better than the afternoon or evening bite. I am sure it is just what you pointed out with the amount of pressure and traffic making a big difference. It certainly presents a fun challenge!
