The bluegills and crappies are shallow around rock and wood. Deep water must be near by for the crappies. Bluegills can also be caught on sand areas. Most crappies being caught are darker black colored and the females are harder to find yet. Some really nice gills and crappies were caught by a couple guys tonight at the HOF Leaque Event but most of the guys had the smaller crappies. I had my best luck using Mini-Mites tipped with a waxie under a float casted to shallow water by wood. Water temp tonight was 71-72 degrees at the surface. The temp below the surface will be alittle cooler yet. Great time being on the water. Lots of fun. Get out and enjoy some time on the water yourself and let know how you do.

    Thanks, Bill
